Overview of Sports Programme

The Edwin Allen High Sports Department has continued to use sports as a springboard to focus on the development of students through academics and extracurricular activities. The Edwin Allen High Sports Programme facilitates student participation in the various sporting disciplines, including Track and Field.

Due the pandemic and changes in the global environment, it has become increasing challenging for the institution to successfully sustain the continuity of these programmes that has made significant contribution to the life of many students who are now contributing to Jamaica’s national development as global citizens. Therefore, let us take the opportunity to invite your participation in the development of the Edwin Allen Sports Programme.

Track and Field Programme

The school has become a brand name in the sporting discipline of track and field. Over the past ten (10) years, the Track and Field Programme has development into one of the island’s best track and field programmes at the high school level. However, the school has been struggling to fund the teams participating in the National Boys and Girls Track and Field Championship at the National Stadium annually with the aim of defending the school’s championship title.

This year, for the first time, we are offering an opportunity our stakeholders to become donors. Your contributions will be targeted exclusively to lowering the growing costs associated with our participation in the annual Boys & Girls Champs held at the National Stadium and the Penn Relays held in the United States.

The Edwin Allen Track and Field Team respectfully request any amount thereof, to coach and teach student athletes principles and skills in an attempt to create opportunities for their future. “Yes, We Need Your Help! Make Our Dream A Reality”. Help us offset the cost associated with Champs and Penn Relays 2022. The estimated cost to support the teams’ campaign is $25,000,000 to take care of expenses not limited to air and ground transportation, meals and hydration, accommodation, medical, tent, etc.
